Global Gateway University Celebrates 2017 Commencement Ceremony
- Hon. Lindell F. Shumake Awarded Honorary Doctorate
ST. LOUIS, MO — On May 30, 2017, at 10:30 AM, Global Gateway University (GGU) successfully held its 2017 Commencement Ceremony at the main campus in St. Louis, Missouri.
Presided over by Dr. Yu-kyung Ko, the ceremony began with a prayer by Dr. Hee-chol Lee. The event featured a powerful message from Chairman Dr. James Song and an inspiring congratulatory address from President Dr. Stephen Combs, both of whom offered their blessings for the graduates' future endeavors.
This year, a total of 33 graduates were honored (2 Bachelor¡¯s, 4 Master¡¯s, 26 Doctorates, and 1 Honorary Doctorate). A particularly significant highlight was the conferral of an Honorary Doctorate degree upon Dr. Lindell F. Shumake. As a four-term member of the Missouri House of Representatives and Chairman of the Board at Midwest University, Dr. Shumake was recognized for his outstanding leadership and distinguished contributions to society.
"We have high expectations that these 33 graduates will fulfill their inherent responsibilities and serve as the true leaders this era demands," a university official stated. "We offer our warmest applause and encouragement as they embark on this new chapter."
